libstdc++.so.5?

hi
I just install emerde, then after I restart, I can not log in to kde.
It says Could not start kstartupconfig. Check installation
then
ksplash, kinit, kmserver, dcop,artshell all complains
error while loading libstdc++.so.5

I check on /usr/lib what I have is libstdc.so.6

How can I fix this problem ?
where can I find libstdc++5 ? Installing an older version might do the trick, I guess
Thank You

libstdc++ is installed with gcc - it seems that something is looking for an older version of gcc than the one you installed.

you could search here: http://slackware.it/en/pb/ or browse the trees for different versions at some of the mirrors here: http://slackware.it/en/getslack/

take a look to see if you have the cxxlibs package - that may help (not sure, but worth a try)

Quote:

cxxlibs-6.0.3-i486-1
in slackware/a cxxlibs (C++ shared library compatibility package)

This package contains the shared libraries needed to run dynamically
linked C++ binaries linked with older versions of libstdc++.
