library error

When I install a package , it pops the below error .

#warning: VirtualBox-4.3-4.3.14_95030_el5-1.i386.rpm: Header V4 DSA signature: NOKEY, key ID 98ab5139
error: Failed dependencies:
libpython2.4.so.1.0 is needed by VirtualBox-4.3-4.3.14_95030_el5-1.i386

But I found the library is in my system

# locate libpython2.4.so.1.0
/usr/lib64/libpython2.4.so.1.0

Would advise how to fix it , is that I can use ldd to fix it ? thanks

First check if the library is in the LD_LIBRARY_PATH. If it's not add it: export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$LD_LIBRARY_PATH:/usr/lib64/
The other possibility is that this is a 32 bit package thus incompatible with the 64 bit version of python.

Most likely something did not install correctly and left your system in bad shape. What linux distro are you using?

the LD_LIBRARY_PATH is empty in my system , I tried add export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$LD_LIBRARY_PATH:/usr/lib64/

#echo $LD_LIBRARY_PATH
:/usr/lib64/

But still not work,

the package is 64 bit .

Try running:
yum clean
yum check
See if there are any problems being reported. You might need to re-install the virtual box package.

the nokey error is because you did not install the security hash for this unknown repo that you got that rpm from

please post the FULL command you are using

it should be
Code:
su -
yum install virtualbox
