libdbus-dev error while installing


when i tried to install vlc in my gutsy,after ./config the last lines of output were

configure: error: Couldn't find DBus >= 1.0.0, install libdbus-dev ?

what should i do?a similar "unable to find dbus" appears when i shutdown my system

How about installing DBus? If you're using a binary distro, then you'll also have to install the DBus development files. If you told us which distro you're using, someone could probably tell you the exact name of the package to install using your package manager.

installing vlc and no DBus found

I am having the same problem and I am using the Fedora 11 distro. What would be the packages I would need to install? Thanks.

install dbus-devel

On fedora 13 i had to install all this packages to compile VLC 1.1.2
Code:
yum install lua-devel libmad-devel ffmpeg-devel a52dec-devel libxcb-devel libX11-devel mesa-libGLU-devel dbus-devel fribidi fribidi-devel poppler-qt4-devel libgcrypt-devel
