LG DVD Writer Not Working on Linux


Hi,

Recently I procured LG Make DVD Writer which works very well in a Windows Machine. However when i switch over to Linux, Though the CD Driver gets detected, i unable to copy/install from the DVDs. The LED on the DVD Writer is continuously ON.

Can anyone help me fix it.

Hi,

has your drive got mounted?

If not , you can try through terminal by typing mount command

create a directory where u want to mount

and use the command mount /dev/<device> /<newly created directery>

go to new dirctory and do whatever you want

What distribution and kernel? What are the errors that you are getting? Post them in the vbcode tags at the top of the reply window, for long list use the # (code).

You should be able to most of the information from 'dmesg'. Plus look at the next two links to help you;
