lexmark X1240 driver loading to knoppix says wrong format

I was given a computer with knoppix loaded on it (not running from CD). Lexmark X1240 is not listed, upon selecting "other" and trying to load drivers from the installation CD I get "wrong format" or similar errors. Thanks!
