Lenovo T410, Kali (2.0) sound issue

Hi all.

On my T410 sound from youtube is really bad. Also using VLC volume is low.
I have sound in my W7 and it works fine.

Kali simply wont give such volume out as W7 does.
So far I tried alsamixer to check settings but it was all top.
Also, driver is aware of headphones if they are plugged in.

Anyone had similiar issue and provided with solution?

Thanks in advance.

you are aware that this is the distro " Kali " right ?

i do not even have any AV programs installed , nor any audio drivers ( that are not default)

this is not a OS for watching videos on Youtube on

it is for OFFENSIVE pen testing

the Kali developers even have WARNINGS about NOT using thirdparty repos
as in they WILL FUBAR the install

Thank you for your answer. I am aware of Kalis purpose; that it's main purpose is not multimedia production etc ...
Still it would be nice to have an option to have a working sound ... if anyone have a solution :)
I am not asking for working photoshop on hacking machine ...

Cheers

have you posted on the Kali forum ?
https://forums.kali.org/

some people have reported issues in not being able to register
if you have that problem think of it as a test

Hi.

Thanks for your reply.
I didn't want to overpost as it is not a big deal ... I will as soon as this thread gets closed.

Take care!

I'm surprised Kali includes VLC in the latest version. Penetration testing isn't it's main purpose, it is it's only purpose. Of course, you can modify anything and the level of difficulty depends on what you are using and skill level. The problem you posted doesn't seem like anything the developers of Kali are going to be concerned about.

You might post some hardware info and a link to whatever a "T140" is as most members here aren't going to spend their time doing an online search. Good luck.
