Left confused by aborted Install

Hi,

Banshee didn't install properly and won't open. Synaptic Package Manager wont open and returns:

E: dpkg was interrupted, you must manually run 'sudo dpkg --configure -a' to correct the problem.
E: _cache->open() failed, please report.

Then I ...

nnjond@nnjond-desktop:~$ sudo dpkg --configure -a
[sudo] password for nnjond:
Setting up libgdata1.4-cil (1.4.0.2-3) ...
* Installing 14 assemblies from libgdata1.4-cil into Mono

Which just hangs...

It seems you need to debug the libgdata1.4-cil post install script. It should be at:

Code:
/var/lib/dpkg/info/libgdata1.4-cil.postinst
Also, have you checked for relevant bugs against this package?

Cheers,

Evo2.

PS. Is this an official package for your distro, or did you get it from some third party?

Did you read it? Try to understand where it is hanging when you run "dpkg --configure -a"? For example, if it is a shell script you can put "set -x" near the top.

Do you want to learn, or are you just looking for a magic fix?
