Leapfrog software, Linux compatability

Hi there. I am new to Linux. I have just replaced my wife and my own Operating Systems from Windows Vista to Linux Mint 14 (Nadia). I am very happy with it. My wife is getting there, she is just adjusting to the differences. She is very happy with how much faster her system is.. which is great.

I have just encountered a problem however.

My son is 2 years old and has a tablet for kids called LeapPad Explorer in which the software installed perfectly on windows but doesn't on my Linux distro.

Any info on how to overcome this problem would be greatly appreciated as my son loves his LeapPad but now we fear we can't add or remove apps from it with Linux?

Thanks

The best bet looks to be to try running it through Wine. Someone tried a few years ago, but there's not much information about it... http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManage...sion&iId=23946

What you can also possibly do if you have no altervaite is to run a virtual machine under linux running windows. Presuming this coenncts over USB to the host, you would pass the usb port directly to the virtual machine and there should be no reason it wouldn't work.

Well you replaced your wife so I suppose dealing with your kid's plaything will be a breeze.
