ldap users

Hi,

I am working with LDAP implimentaion in a 200 lan user environment. And im a a newbie to ldap stuff.
I set up samba pdc with ldap support using smbldap tools. and also http authentication using ldap.

I am confused about one thing. Is it nesserssy that all users are added to the system and reside in /etc/passwd? I mean system users?

bye
thanks in adv
