Question LDAP and RADIUS server

Hello All,
I want to have access logs of router which can show me which user has logged into the router and which command he has fired on the router. For this reason i have to install a RADIUS server on linux. Do I also have to install and configure the LDAP server for my requirement ??? or installing and configuring the RADIUS server will suffies/complete my requirement?

you certainly don't need ldap at all, no. you sound like you're only doing radius accounting, not authentication, so you wouldn't need ldap.

You don't need to be doing radius accounting either. What you're looking for is a very correct use of radius, but all by itself might be a little of a waste. You could have a much easier time just using a simpler syslog server.

Hey Chris,
Thanks for the reply. My intention is to have the server which can show me the logs of users eg. which user is logged into the routers alongwith the time stamp and most importantly which command he has fired on these router.
Can I get all these logs in syslog server itself userwise?
If Yes should I configure a syslog server in linux machine which has connectivity with all the routers in the network ?

The two mechanisms are both little more than ways to move text strings. Radius acct doesn't have any concept of the end user afair. It's just words until you look at the logs. I would suggest syslog personally.
