LDAP
Hi, can anybody say how to configure LDAP. Where is LDAP located basically, which directory? Help appreciated. Thanks.

what about ldap? you can't seriously expect help on just "ldap", that could mean so so many things. please provide full and useful details for us to help you.

HI
Hi, i want to configure LDAP for centos. Its for security purposes i guess. I had to do it for my class. I don't know how to do it.Help pls.
|
If it's for your class, you shouldn't expect us to do it for you. I'll spare you the trouble
of googling 'ldap centos': http://www.centos.org/docs/5/html/De...S/ch-ldap.html |
HI
Hi boss, its for class but i am administrator under training. Its not class exactly. Its for lab. Thanks.

Still, the best approach would be to google for some step-by-step tutorials and if you are stuck at some particular point, you could post specific questions. The link I posted also gives you some theoretical background to it (terminology, etc)

When you post a response like this, it leaves people hanging. I would have expected that you would look at the link that Sycamorex provided, and then post something relevant to that information. The standard homework response is that you should show us what work you have done and then ask specific questions on what you do not understand. Have you installed the LDAP utilities? Do you know where the configuration file is? |
hi
Hi pixellany,
sorry. I got it. I configured the LDAP as my senior administrator showed me once. EXCUSE ME. |

You've still not even defined what kind of LDAP related configuration you need... is this a server? a client? Is it for user management? Generic LDAP storage?

This reminds me of the old joke from the Peanuts comic-strip:

These questions are what the training is really all about, and if you've got questions, so does everybody else. An instructor relies upon this feedback to know what points need further emphasis. If you're going "out of band" to get help, you're unintentionally interfering with that process... to your own detriment. |
