Launcher and HUD not launching

I tried installing macchanger and added a config file for it but since then when I log into Ubuntu 14.4 I don't see anything.. There is no launcher nor HUD.. I sneakily created a folder on the desktop and opened it.. Went to the folder where the terminal program was and launched it. I removed the config file that I created earlier for macchanger.. but still Ubuntu on a restart doesn't work... I am considering a reinstall.. any alternate advice?

it's probably the best & easiest option for you.

in future, try to be more clear/precise in your posts.
