laptop problems with mandrake 9.2
 

hey guys just downloaded a fresh copy of MDK 9.2 from linux iso and install was fine untill i came to log in and its not showing the full screen ....

iv configured the laptop and the monitor and my graphics card and still there is a gap on the right hand side of my desktop and the taskbar and some icons are to the left

any help would be great as im having troubles

monitor is generic and graphics is a s3 savage pro ddr .... under kde

only worse: my dsktp is about a 1/3 larger than my screen. (Gateway lptp, w/ 17", intel 82852 standard, max res. 1024x768). KDE offers me to jack up the res some but dsktp is still way big... No way to mess with config since that turns the GUI off. 1024x768 was tiny, which I liked, under M$.
Anybody can help us? Thanks!!
