Laptop's Touchpad Sensitivity with Ubuntu
I have a lenovo y500 laptop. It came with Vista but knowing it is a laptop killer, I got it uninstalled; installed xp and had ubuntu as my dual boot.
I find my touchpad's sensitivity is pathetic with Ubuntu. Is there any specific reason for this other than the lenovo hardware incompatibility? :) |
Have you tried changing the sensitivity in the Mouse preferences?

Hey hw-tph!
Thanks for your response! Are you referring to the xorg.conf file? I wasn't able to modify it as explained in the other forums because my Xorg.conf file looked completed different like the following: Section "Device" Identifier "Configured Video Device" EndSection Section "Monitor" Identifier "Configured Monitor" EndSection Section "Screen" Identifier "Default Screen" Monitor "Configured Monitor" Device "Configured Video Device" EndSection I don't have an input section etc., I really would like to increase the sensitivity of my touchpad. Please help! |
No, I wasn't referring to the configuration file. You should find a "Mouse" option in System menu --> Preferences. There you can set sensitivity and acceleration options.

Thank you!
I changed the settings, its OK now. But, it doesn't 'feel' as easy and great as the same touchpad while I am in my Windows environment. I don't know why, tho! Any ideas? :) Thanks once again! :D |
