Thumbs up Lan Card

Hi All,
I have Dell Latitude D600 Laptop, with Red Hat 9 installed, it has Broadcom 570x Gigabit Integrated controller, but its not getting detected. It has no eth0 script in /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts, so that means it is not detected by linux am I correct?

So can anyone tell me where I can find the driver for the same and how to install it.

Regards.

Red Hat 9 is so old that it does not surprise me if it can not detect your hardware. It lost its support ages ago and will never ever will.
I would suggest you use a latest distribution. If you are using RH and want to stick with it then Fedora is a good option for you. Else you can go on with CentOS as well.
If you are ready to change the disto you can go with Ubuntu as well. The latest with Ubuntu is 9.04 Jaunty.

Not necessarily ... as said RH9, is very old and hasn't been updated in years.
This means no security updates, and in your case no drivers for modern HW ie HW issued since RH9 was discontinued.
It also means almost no-one here will be able to help because they don't run that version anymore.
As recommended, try Fedora 11 if you want latest bleeding edge, or Centos 5.3 for more stable.

Hijacking someone else's thread is not a good idea. Start your own if you have any issues. And from your question it is not clear if your issue is related to OP's.
Better start a fresh thread with neat descriptive subject and as much information as possible.

As said start your own thread for your issues. This thread talks about Broadcom chipset installation on RH9.
You are not supposed to hijack someone else's thread which has no connection with your issue.
Start your own thread and post information about your distribution, your network card make and model and chipset and everything that you can and think is important for us to know to help you.
