Question Kubuntu system requirements

Hello, everyone. I'm a newbie and I would like to know what the system requirements are for Kubuntu Linux. I have a Dell Optiplex GX100 with 256mb SD-RAM, a 550mhz Intel Celeron processor and a 10gb hard drive. Is this enough for Kubuntu to work on my PC?

No..

You have too little RAM for a regular Kubuntu installation.

However, if you open your case, you might have room for an extra stick of RAM. Otherwise, you could be on the look out for some 128MB or 256MB PC100 RAM sticks, as long as you don't pay much of anything for them.

First off, use Google before asking questions. If you had searched for ubuntu system requirements you would have gotten an answer.

You could, but it would be very slow and would take up nearly half of your disk space.

You might want to take a look at Xubuntu, which uses XFCE instead of KDE.

[QUOTE=jrtayloriv;3648677]First off, use Google before asking questions. If you had searched for ubuntu system requirements you would have gotten an answer.

Though I didn't appreciate that smart-aleck remark, I will follow your advice and go with Xubuntu instead. I've already looked at the system requirements for that, and I should have no problems running it instead of Kubuntu. I would like to ask you nicely not to be so harsh on newbies like me from now on, okay? Thank you.
