Kubuntu samba manager??
 

I had a Kubuntu 8.10 box running for a long time but the drive died and now I am rebuilding it. I had a samba share running for my music and video folders, but now I can't figure out how I did it. After doing some reading I keep coming up with having to manually edit something like smb.conf, but I know for a fact that I didn't do that before, there is a GUI way of doing it somehwere. If I go into the properties for the folder under the share tab it tells me that I need to be authorized to configure file sharing. So I click the button and wait for it to prompt me for a password and i get nothing. Where do configure this at?

Did you install samba on the new box? And was the old box maybe 8.04 ? However trie to install samba packages first, then install "swat" a webadministration tool for samba, will be easy to use for you.
