kppp problem
 

Kppp works fine when I am logged into root but crashes after connecting (or I cant browse the net) when I am logged as regular user. What could be the problem here? Thanks

chmod u+s /usr/sbin/kppp
ln -s /usr/sbin/kppp /usr/bin/kppp

also think about your modem init string I've had some disconnection problem because I didn't input it

how do I input init string?

well I don't remember exactly but it was in the redhat-config-network (you can type that command in a terminal actualy) and by editing the properties of your modem device, you can input the init string I think

I've never had to input a modem input string. Don't mess with it unless you have to.
