KPPP Error

I am using Kubuntu and the free modem drivers from linuxant. When i try to connect to the internet with kppp the first time pppd dies while trying to log on to network and i get an error something about lcp and then the modem hungs up. The second time i try to connect everything works fine. This happens everytime i start my linux box and try to connect to the net the first time. Second time everything is fine.
Anyone has the same problem?
Thanks in advance!

This is the error message i get from kppp everytime i try to connect to the internet via modem for the first time. It always works the second time.
