Kopete

I installed kopete and set it up to chat with dad on msn and hey it works great.Only problem I have is when dad sends me message the type is so small I have to strain to see it.Changing font size only does what I type not his. Also went in to the control panel and loaded window fonts thinking maybe that was the prob but that didn't help.Anyone else ever had this prob or know of a fix.Thank You

If you only need MSN connectivity, you could try aMSN available here this looks and works exactly like the MS version.

Just unpack it to your home directory ( i.e. /home/<username>/msn , change to that directory and run ./amsn. That's it. You can also make a menu entry to do this as well.

Right click on the desktop, and choose Configure Desktop. The screensaver and wallpaper options are there.

I use Guarddog for my firewall. It's availabe here. Just make sure you read the help file in full. It provides a tutorial for getting a firewall up and running. After you do get it running, check it out at the Shields-Up link at http://www.grc.com. As for an anti-virus package, you can try f-prot. Try googling for it.
