Before you remove it, it might be worth checking to see if this is simply a KDE configuration error.
Rename the (hidden) /home/username/.kde
file to /home/username/.kde.bad
Logout ("End session")
Login again. the .kde
files will be recreated with defaults.

If so, good, but you'll have to set up your kde defaults again
If not, you can remove the new /home/username/.kde
file and rename the .kde.bad
one back to .kde
Login again, your defaults are back.
Konqueror is usually well-behaved, and I find it very useful. Maybe mark it for reinstallation?
