Post Konqueror 4.10.5 unstable

When I tried to join this forum for the first time, I found the, previously reliable, konqueror browser to be rediculosly unstable. I was bringing up the crash handler with the ladybird on it more often than usefull web pages.
On looking for similar threads, it seems that this is an old bug that has re-surfaced.

Well, did you "downgrade" it or what was your solution?

I'm running version 4.13.3 of Konqueror with no problems but then I'm using it as my file manager and not as a browser. In any case you might try upgrading it to a more recent version and see if the problems go away.

The problem seems to have gone away but I do not know why. This is one for the bug hunters. I can not bug hunt it because I do not feel like re-compiling my main browser, just in case the real problem is somewhere else.

I don't use konqueror at all. I use dolphin as file manager (or mc in console), and firefox for web browsing. Any bugs might have been eliminated in 4.12.5.

Thanks, its just that I am (even after several years ) not used to systems where bugs actually get fixed without throwing ther design baby out with the coding bath water.

Then I'd strongly suggest having a look at After the Software Wars by Keith Curtis. These are exactly the kind of issues he discusses.
