kobo installation

I have gotten my kobo on desk top and trying to finish the set up, however, it is not recognizing that it is plugged into either port to finish the setup.
How can I resolve this issue?

Power off and unplug the device. Open a terminal window and tail your syslog file. Plug the device in and power it up. USB and SCSI mass storage device messages should scroll by you can post here. Run 'lsusb -v' (Kobo has vendor Id 2237) and post the output here.

* The Kobo actually seems a nice product. It runs Linux plus Busybox, seems easily upgradeable, easily hackable, the source is available, there's a QT-based desktop application and ePub mgmt with Calibre seems OK...
