Knoppix wifi setup

Hello,

Sorry if this is the wrong thread, I have searched but to no avail!

I have played with various distros on various desktops and they have all be plug and play.

However I am now running a laptop and have a copy of knoppix, I am trying to get wifi and sound working. When I run knoppix (live CD) it detects teh wifi but I have no idea how to configure it! I've not looked at the sound yet.

Please help!

In Knoppix 5.1.1, start it the menu with the Penguin icon (next to the K menu):

Network/Internet -> Wireless LAN

I wasn't able to test this as Knoppix didn't have the needed wireless driver.

tried to run wireless setup from Tux then got:

Do you want to start wpa_supplicant for this interface?

So I select 'yes' then get:

Kwlan was unable to
Start WPA Supplicant
This may be caused by system misconfiguration e.g. absence of the utility called or incorrect parameters passed. Please check this and try again.

Then it goes back to the Ath0 setup screen.

HELP!

See if this is of any help. The first part of the section is about ndiswrapper, but toward the end of the section the actual connection is discussed. And it is done w/o kwlan which the author describes as "incomplete."
