Hi to all;
I am a newbie to Linux and also here in this forum.
I searched all over to download an old version of Knoppix Version 3.3. I could not find it anywhere. Anybody could help with me a ISO in CD version of this software.
Thanks in advance.

Hi Linux;
Thanks for your reply.
In fact I tried version Knoppix 5.1.0 in my PC. I could not connect to the internet connection. Also i tried configure it but somehow it is getting alright. So i thought if i try with the older version, i may be able to connect to the net.
Regards

I don't think that the solution to your Internet connection problem is to go backwards to an older linux, rather to go to a version that has support for the hardware device that is giving you a problem. That is often a new or newer linux with a late version kernel.
What PC system are you using? Can you tell us about your machine, its make and model, and its hardware? Boot KNOPPIX 5.1.1 or some other live-cd and use the command "lshw", then post back with the results for your internet chip.
Is there some reason that you didn't download and try the latest Ubuntu/Mint, Fedora, PCLinuxOS, or some other live-cd, but started with an older KNOPPIX? KNOPPIX 5.1.1 is often used to troubleshoot booting older hardware because it has a many documented boot parameters(cheatcodes) to work with, but it isn't a magic wand.

Hi
Thanks for your input.
I am using Knoppix version 5.1.1 but i could not get access to the internet.
My system is Intel (R) Celeron (R) CPU 213 GHz with 504 MB RAM and 40 GB Hard Disk.
My net work adaptor is Realtek RTL 8139 Family PCI Fast Ethernet NIC and my ISDN modem is Sam300 AX ADSL+2 MODEM with default gateway of 192.168.1.1.
Please help me to configure my internet connection.
Thanks for your assistance.

The modem is irrelevant if you are connecting to it through a network cable using your NIC.
The NIC is supported via the 8139cp kernel module. It should work mostly out of the box. To see if the module is loaded you could use "lsmod" as root. Also, post the output of this command:
Code:
dmesg | grep -i net
And this:
Code:
ifconfig
You might need root permissions to run these commands.
Hi
Thanks for all your support. Somehow I managed to figure out how to connect to the internet through V5.1.1. But the browsing speed is so slow and I am sure with broadband connection I have, there may be a way out for this problem.
Now about the mouse problem in Ver.6.0.0 When i launch, graphical interface in V6.0.0, my mouse does not function. Pl. let me know the solution for this.
Thanks once again
