Knoppix hard disk install open office issue

I did a hard disk isntall of knoppix and everything is cool. When I run open office however I get an introduction window every time asking me to register. I did this but it still comes up every time. No big deal but how do I get it to stop?

How do I get thunderbird to default to the open office apps when I open up a windows office doc like word or excel. It asks me what I want to open it with but I don't know where the "exe" file is for open office?

Where do I go to get mplayer to upgrade? I can run it in a terminal window but it messes up when I try to run it in KDE

Thanks in advance.

Quote:

Hard drive install of Knoppix is not recommended for the new user and one should understand that there are problems associated with a hard drive install of Knoppix, particularly if you try to install more software or update your current software. Users are encouraged to look at a Debian ( www.debian.org ) install before trying to "install" Knoppix.
Save yourself a lot of headaches go install Debian Etch.
