KMenu question

I've noticed that entries and submenus in the Kmenu keep disappearing for no apparent reason and others are adding themselves.
In the past day alone, GIMP 2.0 has vanished from the graphics submenu, re-appeared after a reboot then a couple of hours later vanished again.
Also, I have a lost and found submenu that has appeared all by itself.
Another help menu has been added which is identical to the one that was already there and various other programs keep appearing and disappearing all through the day.
The system menu early on filled almost the entire screen then later on just half the screen and now it's taking up the whole screen again.
I haven't used the menu editor at all because on a previous linux install, after changing the order of items, half of them vanished and the rest re-ordered themselves.
It's bizzare.

The "Lost and Found" menu is present on my distro too. But your other problem of disappearing and appearing menu items is most strange. Never happened to me and I use Fedora Core 1.
