Introduction to Linux - A Hands on Guide
This guide was created as an overview of the Linux Operating System, geared toward new users as an exploration tour and getting started guide, with exercises at the end of each chapter.
For more advanced trainees it can be a desktop reference, and a collection of the base knowledge needed to proceed with system and network administration. This book contains many real life examples derived from the author's experience as a Linux system and network administrator, trainer and consultant. They hope these examples will help you to get a better understanding of the Linux system and that you feel encouraged to try out things on your own.

I'm not only new to LinuxQuestions, but a novice on Linux. If I've posted this in the wrong forum, please accept my apologies.
I'm running Ubuntu 11.10 on a new 64-bit Linux system. Have KMail set up and loving that program except for one problem--it downloads duplicate emails.
I have 5 email accounts running, 3 POP3 accounts and 2 IMAP (GMail) accounts, and the problem seems to cross over to all of the accounts, although I don't get duplicates on every single email received. The second email is downloaded immediately upon opening the first email and I get a conflict message asking me to choose which message I want to keep, the left, right, or both. I have interval email checking in place and the POP3 accounts are set to not leave fetched messages on the server.
Have searched the site and read the questions/answers on the duplicate email problem with IMAP accounts and my problem is not that at all. I don't get batches of emails downloaded a second time, etc. Any ideas would be appreciated!
A suggestion: Set up another email client (I would recommend Sylpheed--it's light and fast) and test to see whether the problem appears in it also. If it doesn't, that would narrow this to a Kmail problem.
Either way, it would help define the scope of this issue.
