Glad to hear this is sorted.
I do not know what the defaults are for the firewall in suse.
(I have suse 10 but not installed yet), but for your peace of mind
just check when you have a chance.

Other tools to consider
clamav (antivirus / scanner), there is a GUI front-end called Klamav (I think)
tripwire (or equivalent) to track system intrusion

Perhaps it was just my bad computer Karma. After waiting in line at the Dept. of motor vehicles when I first got to NYC as soon as the woman said can I help you to me their entire system went down.
