Keys in xterm keep repeating
I have a strange issue where when I open an xterm on my Fedora 8 machine and start typing, a key that I press will start repeating over and over. For instance, when I am typing a command, like "ls -l", it seems that a key will stick and I get the command "lssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss" until I hit the Ctrl C key.
I have tried rebooting but this issue keeps happening. Where should I start troubleshooting this issue? |
I have seen this happen when system resources are low.

I know this might sound like an obvious answer, but it could be the 's' key on your keyboard which is at fault.
Try replacing the keyboard and see what happens. |

No, it is a random key that will repeat. I tried setting the key repeat rate to the lowest repeat rate and interval, but the phenomena still occurs. I was looking at a Ubuntu forum where this was happening, but it didn't appear that there was any particular solution. |
