Keypad mapping

Hi all,
I am working on keypad interfacing between analog device adp 5587 and arm9 s3c2450.I want to do keypad mapping for keys like "space","alt","shift" etc. Can anybody let me know how to do this?

Thanks,

do you know 'apropos' command ? it can help you more than I'm doing.
you can use 'xev' to know events such as keypressed ...
and xmodmap to adapt your keys to what you want.
