Question Keyboard Shortcuts from the Desktop

Are there any keyboard shortcuts or combinations I can press to open things I use a lot like the terminal, etc.?

Thanks in advance,
-Sam

Hi Sam,

This basically depends on which window manager you are using. If you are using gnome for example, you can run the "keyboard shortcuts" (system, preference, personal, keyborad shortcuts) gui and set up anything you like for for your keyboard and even special keys.

In KDE 3.5

Open the Kmenu and select "Configure Desktop" in "Favorites" and open "Regional and Accessibility". There you will see "Keyboard Shortcuts" where keyboard shortcuts may be seen and established.
