keyboard probs on install
I am a super noob on the Linux scene and i really do wanna switch from XP to Mandrake 9.1.
I am trying to install from floppy and when I start the install I cannot use my usb keyboard to choose drive options . I really wanna get this installed ASAP because of constant hardware issues in XP :( 10x for the help :) |
hate to say this.... but considering that you are a newbie and unless someone knows a pretty simple way to do this, i would seriously consider the 7.99 for a new keybord to get throught the intall
|
by the way, why can't you do a cd intall?
this may be a easier problem to fix |
MY CDRW for some reason doesn't seem to wanna boot Mandrake.
I have never had any other probs with ISO's before just this one. Also should i just put the keyboard in the ps2 ? |
hmm....
1. did windows boot form cd ok? 2. is bios set up to boot from CD? 3. is the CD-RW scsi? |
yep / yep /yep :)
when i autorun it and it says it will reboot and install Mandrake it just reboots back to XP :( |
your scsi interface card is probably not capable of booting from cd-rw. well so much for that. may be time to buy that keyboard.
