Hi pheonix,
Well, I had a similar problem, with the Micro-Innovations 110Key. Well, it turns out that the keyboard just "fried", I dont know what happened! It just stopped working, in Winblows and Linux! I couldn't even select anything on the boot-menu. I just got a new keyboard, they're cheap anyway. (Yes, I did check to see if it was pluigged in) Hope that helps, although there could be something else wrong instead. I just don't know what! Good Luck! -Aaron |
Oh, there's also some info on this thread:
http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...hreadid=262906 It's about the characters being all f-ed up. |
Well I will try what they suggested on that link.
Now as far as my keyboard goes it does work, in windows, and it also works in the other Linux distros and in the setup of this distro. Now in that forum they were talking about the Suse distro. So I need to know what to do about changing the k-board parameters in this one. And sense it is a 138key keyboard what should I select on the keyboard setup. this is what I have Web Office Pro Keyboard KB730X 138 Key Internet / Multimedia Keyboard Office Clipboard Keys Easy Glide Scroll Bar Designed for Windows XP Web Office Pro Keyboard KB730X 138 Key Internet / Multimedia Keyboard Office Clipboard Keys Easy Glide Scroll Bar Designed for Windows XP |
Well I tried it with another keyboard. Which I had to convert to a ps2 but it is a 104k keyboard. And it did not work either.
Note: the one I have now has 103 + all the other hot keys The layout by the space bar is like this (Ctl) (Win) (Alt) (Spacebar) (Alt) (list key) (Ctl) Now most other keyboards have 2 win keys one by the (list key) and another by its self. I may be calling it the wrong name the key I am talking about does the same thing a right click will do on a mouse. Ok what I need to know is how do I get Linux to detect the keyboard? I know it works on this distro at least up until I get into the gui login part. At this point it just shuts of even number lock will not come on. although my Microsoft key will turns on and of it is like a shift so I can use the key f1 – f12 for other purposes like save, spell check, undo, reply ect. I read in the other forum that there is a way to tell it to load up the keyboard but how do I get to it when I can’t use my keyboard? I have tried booting in safe mode and using a cd boot but they both do not work. Thank you all for your help |
Ohh yea
