Introduction to Linux - A Hands on Guide
This guide was created as an overview of the Linux Operating System, geared toward new users as an exploration tour and getting started guide, with exercises at the end of each chapter.
For more advanced trainees it can be a desktop reference, and a collection of the base knowledge needed to proceed with system and network administration. This book contains many real life examples derived from the author's experience as a Linux system and network administrator, trainer and consultant. They hope these examples will help you to get a better understanding of the Linux system and that you feel encouraged to try out things on your own.

hello.a couple of days ago, i installed arch on my laptop.i followed the wiki and everything works fine.almost.
the problem that i encounter is that after booting and when it display the login prompt(booting in init 3), there is a delay of about 5-10 sec before my keyboard respond to the keypress.but after that, the keyboard will function normally again.i post a question regarding this problem in their forum but i didnt get a answer that works for my machine. then i tried to reinstall again zenwalk 6.after installing and going init 3, i also encounter the same delay on keyboard. i also post a question on zenwalk forum but they again,i didnt get an answer that solve the problem i encountered.then, i installed slackware 12.2 on the same machine and i dont have the problem of keyboard delay on login prompt.
i would like to ask the users of zenwalk and arch(even other distro) if they also encounter this keyboard delay upon booting to init 3.if you have and solved it, would you please share it so that i can try to apply the solution you have done when i decided to try again installing arch.thank you in advance.
btw, my laptop is compaq presarion v3901tu.
