Question keyboard configuration

hello everyone:

I'm newbie in linux and i just install red hat 9, using gnome.

the problem is that every time that i log in to mi session the keyboard is set to
us international (I'm using spanish), then i go to system-setting:///keyboard and my keyboard is set to spanish (it says, but really isnt), i only press ok and my keyboard is to spanish again.

i use it very well until i log in again, is set to us international

thanks for your time and forgive me if i have some mistakes in the english writing

Take a look in /etc/X11/XF86Config

for the line

Option "XkbLayout" "gb"

Mine is "gb" for great britain if it doesn't have the equivalent for spanish change the setting's to whatever they should be, possibly

Option "XkbLayout" "es"

You'll have to check the proper value for what "es" should be, if it is already correct then I don't know the reason

Reboot for good measure for any changes to take effect

...or maybe you're using the file

Code:
/etc/X11/XF86Config-4
then you have to modify this file, doing what Looking_Lost suggests.

only insert the option and it is "es" for spanish.

sorry for sending the last reply without looking better in the file
