Key function changing

Hi,
I want to change the way my F1 and F2 function keys work. What is want is, when I press F1 key it would do text copy operation (of course the text should be selected prior to pressing the key) and F2 will do paste operation. Please help me find the way.

Thanks.

which GUI you are using?

if it is GNOME,

open the panel menu -> system -> preferences -> personal -> keyboardshortcuts.

edit there

Hello,
I'm using gnome and there is no copy or paste operation defined there. Sorry for such a late reply.

Thanks.

I didn't get what you are telling. First tell me are you able to open the window I mentioned in the earlier post?

Hello,
Yes, I'm able to open the window you mentioned. I can define some keyboard shortcuts there. But I want that my F1 function key will perform a copy operation just like CTRL+C and F2 key will perform a paste operation like CTRL+V. I can't define this shortcuts in the keyboard shortcut window you mentioned.

Thanks
