kernel panic: attempt to kill init

Hi,

I installed RedHat 7.2 in three machines in the past week (as a newbie) and I had no problem. However, yesterday I tried to install it in a new bought Athlon XP 1600+ system (which runs Windows 2000 very well now) and I got the following error right after the first "enter" once the system boots from the CD:
"kernel panic: attempt to kill init ".... and the system halted.

Can anyone help me with that? (I tried with the cache enabled-desabled, I checked the memory) ...have no more ideas.

Thank you.

there are no problems reported with the athlon XP 1600+, maybe you should do a bios update and try to reinstall

Just a thought
