Kernel reconfiguration for RTAI
Dear Linux users,
-Hello to you all: Being new at this forum I'd first like to say "hello" to all! (Before I continue with my problems :-)) - So now the problem: I'm installing RTAI 3.8 in ubuntu 10.04, after some tricks and magic it finally worked... Except for the latency test, this gave some really bad results. So I have to change options again in the menuconfig, untill it is finally exceptable. I first started with the UBUNTU 10.04, then I downloaded a clean kernel witch I patched and configured. Then I had to make a new grub entry so I could boot the RTAI kernel. -Question: Is there any way that I recompile/adjust kernel configuration's for the RTAI version that I'm already running? Thus without having to make a knew entry in grub. And if there is, were do I reconfigure the kernel back into the std UBUNTU 10.04 kernel or in the RTAI version? I searched the Internet for this matter, but they always end up with a new entry in grub and that is the thing I want to avoid, I want to fine tune my version... I really hope I've made myself understandable, but I really have no clue what to do so it's hard to express yourself :-). In case of need for extra information, don't hesitate and ask! Thanks in advance! Kind regards, Roy |
