Kernel problems!

Running Sabayon.
When I try to compile the SPCA5XX webcam driver, i get these error messages:

Code:

Building SPCA5XX driver for 2.5/2.6 kernel.
Remember: you must have read/write access to your kernel source tree.

Code:

Kernel configuration is invalid.
        include/linux/autoconf.h or include/config/auto.conf are missing.
Run 'make oldconfig && make prepare' on kernel src to fix it.

I did : 'make oldconfig && make prepare' but it didn't work.

Can I do something fix this? Something in the Linux Kernel Menu maybe?

Feedback warmly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

What happened when "make oldconfig"?

Who are you trying to compile this as. Make sure you have all the c libraries installed on your system. A quick google search showed that they are C libraries.

I have probably fixed the kernel problems.

I am trying to figure it out by reading these:

http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=148425

http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t...t-spca5xx.html

But still I can't fix it. I am very new to this, and working with commands and fixing the "tree" and all that.

Is it possible to make an easy guide out of all this...?

Thanks!
