Kernel Panic while installing RHEL 6 Desktop on HP Pavilion laptop

Hello
I am new to Linux. I am trying to install RHEL6 in a virtual box. But it is giving Kernel Panic Error
Kernel Panic - not syncing - Fatal exception
My laptop is
HP Pavilion
AMD E1-1200 APU with Radeon(tm) HD Graphics 1.4 GHz
6GB RAM
Windows 8 - 64 Bit OS, x64-based processor

I am not good at hardware or networking and have never worked with linux. Kindly help out.

Within virtualbox, when creating a new machine, are you selecting `Linux` for type and `Red Hat (xx-bit)` for version?

Also tell us what other parameters you selected in virtualbox and the version of virtualbox itself.
