Kernel panic: Attempted to kill init! on REDHAT
Hello everyone,
I am an Italian newbie and I have a question concerning an problem that I have done on a machine that runs redhat. I need to install Teamveawer on redhat, but during installation I An error occurred on the library "libc.so.6" I downloaded the package from Rpmfind, but I was wrong and I installed that package on to another OS then once the machine is restarted, the operating system is no longer party referring the error: Kernel panic - Not Syncing: attempted to kill init Can I restore the OS? I finally compromised if S.O. I can retrieve the applications that we turned on? Thanks to everyone who wants to help |

Ok I reproduced the problem on Virtual Machine, this is the log.

It seems to me that you have dependecy problem. It's saying you need Glib. I think it's listed as libglib...

I used the wrong glibc.
I used this x86-compat-libs-9.0-2mdk.ia64. But now what should I use? Can I override the glibc package? Thanks |
Use apt-get to install the right 1 and it will remove the other or replace.

Use aptitude that way you can check for other dependencies to find-out if they're available install, if not you'll have to most likely edit your /etc/apt/sources.list.
