kernel panic

Hi, everybody

I have tried to install some new kernel version of Linux on my computer running SuSE 9.0 with 2.4.21 kernel. I used a rpm file to upgrade the kernel. But when I restarted the computer after the installation, the Linux could not be booted. I got the following error information:

/* Kernel panic: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on 03:05 */

Does anybody know how can I boot the Linux now?

Thanks in advance!

^_^

mmh, which rpm package did you install, where did you get it from? Do you use an "initrd"?
