Unhappy KERNEL PANIC @ CRUX 2.2 UNABLE to MOUNT ROOT FS ON UNKNOW -BLOCK (3,0)

I’m learning how to install Linux CRX 2.2, I followed the handbook step by step until the kernel and boot loader installation. The problem is that when I removed the install CD and boot computer from the HDD, I’m receiving the following error.

Booting the kernel
IRQ9: nobody cared (try booting with the IRQ Poll option)
[<c02a9cf3>] (acpi-IRQ+0x0/0x16) DISABLING IRQ # 9
KERNEL PANIC – not Syncing: VFS: UNABLE TO MOUNT ROOT FS ON UNKNOW – KLOCK (3,0).

What do I need to do to finish the installation or solve this problem:
What I did wrong?

Can any body help me please?

You probably don't have support for either a) your filesystem or b) your IDE controller built into your kernel. I am not familiar with the distribution so I can't offer really good help, but did your use the same kernel that the install cd booted off of?

I had the same problem and it was because I had not compiled in support for my IDE chipset during make menuconfig.

Check the settings under ATA/ATAPI/MFM/RLL Support for your particular chipset.

Without IDE support the kernel cannot run the harddisk.
