Kernel Module is a module (Device driver or such) which can be dynamically loaded and unloaded by the kernel as and when is required... It saves the kernel memory utilisations..

get the latest kernel source and cd to /usr/src/linux and follow the Readme File for instructiuons about patching u might need to recompile the kerenel..
read the README File
