What distro?

Are you dual booting?

Did you install LILO or GRUB in the Master Boot Record (MBR).

How are your partitions set up? Where is /boot located?

We really need a LOT more info to help you.

Thanks,
Whitehat

Sorry for the lack of info

Mandrake 9.2, duel boot with win2k, two hard drives the master is win. The slave is partitioned the first partition being Linux, the second is user files for win. I tried to install the mbr. It should have been grub. I tried lilo before with no luck. The Linux drive is set up like this first :\ second :swap The third :\home .
