kernel: devfs_mk_dev: could not append to parent for <NULL>125

Hi

What does this means

Code:
Sep 1 18:37:16 localhost kernel: devfs: 2004-01-31 Richard Gooch (rgooch@atnf.csiro.au)
Sep 1 18:37:16 localhost kernel: devfs: boot_options: 0x0
Sep 1 18:37:16 localhost kernel: devfs_mk_dev: could not append to parent for md/0
Sep 1 18:37:16 localhost kernel: devfs_mk_dev: could not append to parent for <NULL>0
Sep 1 18:37:16 localhost kernel: devfs_mk_dev: could not append to parent for <NULL>1
Goes as far as <NULL> 255, so it is clogging /var/log/syslog

Using Kernel 2.6.11-6mdk
mandriva LE 2005

Thanks

I think this has to do with udev. Have you done anything recently? updated, etc

Hi,

I am not sure whether these messages came after upgrading from 10.1 to LE2005
or after I hardened the security level within Mandriva.

Is there a way to get more messages about what udev is trying?

[edit I have a raid 0, but using mdadm not md.
I think the messages from devfs are for 2 different things

maybe an idea here:

Regards

PS: Thanks for helping the newcomer to 10.1 on that other thread

I guess this is the same bug as reported at
http://archives.mandrivalinux.com/co...3/msg03425.php
