Kernel Compilation Problem
 
Hi,

I am trying to compile kernel. Getting following:

HK include/linux/version.h
CHK include/linux/utsrelease.h
SYMLINK include/asm -> include/asm-x86
CALL scripts/checksyscalls.sh
CHK include/linux/compile.h
GEN .version
CHK include/linux/compile.h
UPD include/linux/compile.h
CC init/version.o

LD .tmp_vmlinux1

I suggest you post more information. What distro? What kernel source? What method are you using to compile? Etc.

Hi,

I am compiling linux 2.6.32.8 on my fedora 7.
I used
make menuconfig and then
make bzImage.

I'm no Fedora expert but I suspect you'll have many problems building such a recent kernel on such an an old OS. Have you considered upgrading?

What gcc version?
also make sure your not building the kernel relocatable.
