kernel choice & other questions

Dear Linux gurus

1) The installer of one distro asks me which Which kernel should I use? 2.4 or 2.6? I think my hardware can handle any of them. What do u think? What are the merits/demerits of using kernel 2.4/2.6?

2) What is Pan and aKregator? What is a news feeder? What is RSS and Atom???

Thanks.

I would choose kernel 2.6 the latest, "THE GREATEST". For RSS and ATOM, you cand find more information by using the search function in google(XML related for resources, news,...)
