Welcome to LQ.

Be sure that you have the right file in "/etc/yum.repos.d/" :
Code:
[fedora12]
name=Fedora12-i386
baseurl=http://archives.fedoraproject.org/pub/archive/fedora/linux/releases/12/Everything/i386/os/
enabled=1
gpgcheck=1

[fc12-updates]
name=Fedora12-updates-i386
baseurl=http://archives.fedoraproject.org/pub/archive/fedora/linux/updates/12/i386/
enabled=1
gpgcheck=1
Move the default files to a backup folder, and make a new fedora12.repo file with :
# gedit /etc/yum.repos.d/fedora12.repo
... Use the above "repo text" ,,, and save the file.

Install the updated kernel, kernel-devel : # yum install kernel kernel-devel
.. I.e. the two packages kernel, kernel-devel must be an exact match.
.. Then reboot, and the new kernel, kernel-devel can be used.

NCTUns info at LQ : http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/tags/nctuns/

P.S. : `2.6.32.26-175.fc12.i686' is actually the latest version.
